Fundraising and Sponsorship
· Can I use my event as a fundraiser?
Certainly! Through our Contributions feature you can raise funds directly through your Event Page!
· How do Contributions work?
With Contributions, whenever someone purchases a ticket for your event, they will also have the opportunity to contribute to your cause as well. If they choose to do so, then their contribution will be added directly to their ticket purchase and their credit card will only be processed one time.
· How long can people make contributions?
People can not only make contributions when they purchase tickets, but for up to 4 days after the event they can make contributions.
· If an event doesn’t reach its threshold, will contributions still be made?
Like with the ticket purchase, if an event doesn’t meet its threshold then your credit card will not be processed for the contribution.
· Rather than use Contributions, can we just increase the ticket price and have some of that money go to a cause?
Unfortunately, due to restrictions set by our exhibitor partners, we are not able do that.
· Is it the Promoter’s responsibility to get the funds to the cause or organization on whose behalf they are hosting the event?
It’s the Promoter’s responsibility to communicate with a member of our Financial Team to specify where contributed funds are to be sent via PayPal or check. Additionally, the contributed funds can be delivered directly to the Promoter via PayPal, and it would be up the Promoter to make sure that the funds are given to the correct entities.
· Do all the funds go to the Promoter?
All of the funds go directly to the Promoter other than a standard 10% processing fee that is applied to the transaction.
· Can I claim the money I donate with Contributions on my taxes?
Tugg makes no representation as to whether all or any portion of the Contributions are tax deductible. Tugg will have no liability for any claim by any federal, state, local or any other tax authority with respect to the characterization on any applicable tax return of any of the Contributions. For more information, please review the Promoter Agreement.
· Can I sponsor an event and give away tickets?
Yes. If you want to sponsor an event, you can offer one of two types of ticket discounts through our Sponsorship feature – either free or partially subsidized tickets.
· How does the Sponsorship feature work?
If you want to sponsor an event, you can select which type of discount you’d like to offer to attendees. Then, you can select to either offer it to everyone or to just a select group of people. If you choose to offer it to a select group, then you will be given a unique, redeemable coupon code which you can provide to your community. Speak to your Promoter Point Person to discuss this possibility.
